What I've Learned After 10 Years in Real Estate

This Spring marks the three year anniversary of Melanie Wright Real Estate and my ten year anniversary as a realtor.

The past ten years have taught me a lot about the Ottawa real estate market.

One of the most important things I have learned is about the varied and individual needs of my most important asset – my clients. From the very beginning, nothing has been more important to me than always being responsive to clients. My paramount role is to serve as my clients’ trusted advocate in advancing their interests as we navigate the process of buying or selling a home together. This can sometimes be an unpredictable and often stressful journey. But I have found that listening to my clients throughout the process means I am able to adapt as necessary to help get them where they want to be.

Another important thing I have learned over the past decade is that honesty and integrity is the best policy. There are multiple competing interests at stake when it comes to buying or selling a home.  For the vast majority of us, it is the single biggest investment we will make during our lifetime. Appreciating this, I strive to ensure that my clients have access to accurate and current information to assist in their decision-making, from up-to-date market statistics and comparables to knowing the proximity to nearby schools and amenities. I am personally risk averse and I make it my priority to do my due diligence on behalf of my clients to ensure that their biggest investment is protected and is the result of a fully informed decision that they are comfortable and happy with.

I love houses and I love helping people find their perfect home. I consider it a privilege to assist my clients to help get them to the next chapter of their lives that comes with buying or selling a home.

A big thank you to my dedicated team and my wonderful clients for the last ten years. I look forward to continue working with all of you going forward.

Cheers,
